Well as most of you know Jeff deployed at the end of April. He has been gone for almost a month!! I cant believe it's only been a month, it seems like so much longer. Landon and I miss him so much but we are doing ok on our own. The days are long but Jeff makes every effort he can to call home everyday and let me know that he is ok. Hearing his voice and knowing he is safe helps me sleep a little better at night. His base was attaked a few days ago by some crazy suicide bombers trying to get onto the base. Thank God none of our guys were hurt but things did get crazy for a bit. The guys are constantly busy flying or sitting alert. He doesn't get much time to sleep and with a 3 am attack on the base can really cut into any sleep he might get. It's very scary to know that the war is so close and sometimes knocking at your loved ones door. Please keep him in your prayers and all the men and women who are deployed.
On a lighter note, Jeff and I had been trying to get Landon walking in his own before he left but we had no luck. One week after Jeff left Landon decided that this would be the right time to start walking!! He couldn't walk a week earlier but now he's a walking champ. Jeff has seen videos of him walking all over and can't believe how fast he is !
This deployment hasn't been so bad but with Landon growing and constantly moving and me being in my 15th week of pregnancy( sick and all) it hasn't been so easy. Landon and I will be taking our own adventure back to the states in June and I will try to blog while we are there. I'm excited to get back home and this will hopefully make the time fly by faster and we will have Jeff back before we know it!
We love and miss you daddy! Please fly safe and fly smart!
